Work

These are the main projects I’ve been involved with at MRM Worldwide so far.

Nespresso

Nespresso

PHP + Javascript development for the new Nespresso brand website. Typo3 behind the scenes, light-weight architecture on the front + fancy animations in Flash. Team effort, long nights, but a nice website in the end.

Site live at http://fr.nespresso.com/.

Cereals Partners Worldwide — Nestlé

Cereals Partner Worldwide

C#, ASP.NET 2.0, ASP.NET MVC + Javascript development for Nestlé-Fitness, Chocapic and Nesquik in a two person dev team. SOAP webservices + CMS development.

Carefully engineered projects are my favorite without a doubt, and all that wouldn’t have been possible without my awesome teammate and the rest of the team.

Opel

Opel

C#, ASP.NET 2.0 + Javascript development for several promo sites such as Opel promo, Opel essai and Opel concessionnaire in a two person dev team. Mostly SOAP webservices + Google maps API.

Working on Opel projects wouldn’t be that much interesting if it didn’t mean working with a great team leader.

Other projects

I’ve been lucky to work on other projects as well, such as Maybelline, Mastercard, Gaz de France

Job

What does your job consist of ?

Hmm, good question. It mainly consists of designing and implementing technical solutions for our clients. It ranges from writing simple webservices to building full-blown CMS.

Does that mean that you’re the genius behind all these projects ?

Of course not. These projects are a team effort. I mostly work in pair which is an extremely productive programming technique. I only deserve half the credits for the code mentioned here, which also means that only half of the bugs are mine ;) and I highly recommend it to everyone who writes code on a daily basis.

Which part of your job do you enjoy most ?

Website architecture is — by far — the part of my job that I like most, and I’m glad to be able to do that on a regular basis. I’m a serious proponent of the layered architecture, which I have written a bit about on this blog.

I enjoy working for both front and back-end, and am eager to start writing javascript on the server once it gets more popular. Until then, I’ll get busy with all the new technologies and vigorously advocate for integrating them in new or current projects.

And the one you really don’t like ?

That’s a tough one. I guess, the worst thing is doing maintenance work on bad legacy code and working with Drupal. I really dislike that.
